Step 1. Make sure your modem is an ADSL or ADSL2+ modem. ADSL modems have an RJ-11 (small phone plug) connection on the back that will say either DSL, ADSL or WAN.
Step 2. If you have more than one phone socket, you should read our guide about filtering under General. Connect the Filter to the wall socket with the Line port, connect the Phone to the Phone Port on the filter, and the Modem to the ADSL/DSL Port on the filter. See picture below.
When this has been connected, the ADSL/DSL light on the modem should start blinking, and after 1-2 minutes light up a static green. The phone line should have a clear dial tone. You can test this once you have connected your Phone Handset to the Phone Port If cannot hear a clear dial tone please check our phone troubleshooting guide.
Step 3. Connect your Computer to the Ethernet Port, or any of the ports labelled 1-4 on the back of the modem. The other end of the Ethernet cable connects to your network card on your PC. Once connected the Ethernet light or 1-4 light on the modem should go green or start blinking. If this is not the case, check our troubleshooting guide for settings on the PC.

Step 4. Your modem should now be connected to the internet. If the PPP or Internet light is not green on the modem you might need to change the login details on the modem.
