Frequently Asked Questions

5G refers to the next generation of mobile networking. It includes new technologies and standards that have the potential to greatly increase data speeds, responsiveness (lower latency) and massive connectivity of wireless networks. As 5G evolves, standards are being progressively adopted by international bodies along with network and handset manufacturers worldwide
5G internet uses Australia’s existing mobile network, without wires, to connect to the Internet. For businesses that don’t have the option to connect to the NBN (or would prefer not to) SpinTel 5G internet is a great alternative. To get your business set-up quickly and easily, simply plug in a supplied modem to a power source and connect to a signal. Within minutes, you can begin downloading or uploading your business files.

5G Internet is perfect if you:

  • Can't access the NBN
  • Don't want to lock your business into a contract
  • Rent the space where your office or home office is located
  • Have a short lease for your business premises
  • Gain peace of mind with the Optus network
  • Month to month contract
  • Enjoy unlimited data
  • 5G internet for business $90 per month
All you need to get started is a SpinTel supplied 5G modem and SIM card.
Super-fast! In fact, 5G is one of the fastest Internet options available, with an average download speed of 239Mpbs*. This makes it ideal for businesses that need to download large files quickly and seamlessly. Not satisfied that you’re getting download speeds of at least 50Mbps? Simply report the issue to us and check whether it’s within the terms of our 50Mbps Satisfaction Guarantee. If it is, we’ll confirm your eligibility to cancel your contract without cancellation fees under this guarantee.
Real easy! Your service is ready to use from the moment you receive your SpinTel supplied 5G modem and SIM card. Just plug the modem in and wait for it to search for a signal. It will automatically update the firmware. As soon as the 5G LED light turns green, you’re ready to enjoy super-fast wireless 5G connection in your office. Need help troubleshooting? Try our tips here, or get in touch if you’d like to speak with us.
We recommend positioning the 5G modem near a window, with little to no obstructions. Objects such as large buildings, trees and dense in-building materials (brick walls, insulation etc.) may impact the strength of your 5G signal. If the centre LED light on your modem remains red, check out our troubleshooting tips here, or get in touch so we can help you further
If at any time during the term of your 5G Internet plan you’re not satisfied that you are getting download speeds of at least 50Mbps, or you cannot receive a 5G signal, simply report the issue that you are having to us and we will investigate the issue and check if it’s within the terms of our 50Mbps Satisfaction Guarantee (Guarantee). If it is, we will confirm your eligibility to cancel your contract without cancellation fees under this Guarantee. You must return the supplied 5G device to us in good working order within 30 days of cancellation. This Guarantee does not affect your rights under any law. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled: to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. If a failure with the service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the service.
The 5G Internet service does not support fixed line telephone, back-to-base alarm, back-to-base medical systems or Static IP address.
For a super-fast Internet service for your business, check out our Wireless 5G Plans above.
You will need to contact SpinTel to ensure that your new service address is eligible for 5G Internet. If eligible, you may be able to continue using your 5G Internet at your new service address. If you are moving to an area where 5G internet is not currently available, SpinTel will endeavour to provide available services within the new area and will cease providing the existing 5G Internet. If you choose not to proceed with any home internet service with SpinTel, then you may need to pay a cancellation fee and will need to return any SpinTel supplied 5G devices in good working order, otherwise a non-return fee may also apply.
Unfortunately, if you can’t access a mobile network from your business address, you may not be able to connect to 5G. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get connected! We’ll do everything we can to connect you to the best available service in your area. Check out our Mobile Coverage Map to check if your business location is covered by 5G.
All of our products are covered by SpinTel's Standard Form of Agreement and are subject to our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). The Mobile Service Description and Mobile Standard Pricing Table also form part of the agreement. This page summarises some helpful things to know. If you have any questions, please call us on 13 22 10. The mobile service will be delivered over the Optus 5G network. Where 5G coverage is not temporarily available, the service will revert to 4G as available or compatible. Service is billed monthly in advance. Where a cancellation is requested, billing will cease at the end of the current billing period. Where the option is available, you are eligible to change your plan at any time. The change will be effective as of the next billing month.
In applying for SpinTel's Wireless Broadband service from us, you agree to the following. Services can only be terminated on the last day of your billing cycle. If you wish to terminate the service in the following billing month, you will be charged for the entire month. The 5G Wireless Services have a '50Mbps coverage guarantee'. If you cancel your service for the '50Mbps coverage guarantee', the following conditions apply. The returned modem must be in the same condition it was received, with no damage to the unit. It must be returned with all included cables, power adapter and in the complete and original packaging. Failure to return all parts, including all packaging, will prevent us from being able to refund the cost of the modem. Any refund will not include the shipping cost to receive or send back the modem. Any service charges from when the service was activated to when the modem was returned will not be refunded. You must contact us if you are not receiving the minimum 50Mbps speeds. Our team will troubleshoot and create a Return Authorisation for the hardware and a service closure if the speed issue cannot be resolved.
These terms and conditions are specific to the modems supplied for Wireless Broadband. SpinTel retains ownership of the rental modem. We reserve the right to supply you with rental modems that are refurbished, meaning modems that may have been used previously by another customer. Prior to delivery to you, we will ensure that these modems are tested to be in good working order and have been reset to factory defaults. Upon termination of the 5G service plan, you are required to return the modem to SpinTel. If you do not return the modem within 21 days from the date of termination, or if the modem is considered damaged or misused, excluding reasonable wear and tear, you will need to pay the full retail price of the modem. Upon termination of non-5G services, you will be charged the rental value of the modem until it is returned.
Modems are delivered to you prior to installation. They are self-service "plug and play" devices. If you experience a problem with the rental modem, we will send you a replacement modem and a return bag. If your current model of the modem is unavailable, we will send you a replacement modem offering similar functionality. The modem must be returned within 21 days from the dispatch of the replacement modem. The returned modem will undergo diagnostic testing. There is no charge for replacement modems if modems are faulty, excluding reasonable wear and tear. You will need to pay the full retail price of the modem, currently $935.00 for a Nokia FastMile, if you do not return the modem or if it is considered damaged or misused.
A modem may be considered damaged or misused where it has a missing power pack, missing cables, missing or dislodged components or parts. Other examples of damage or misuse include water damage, dirt, dust, debris, disfigurement, marking or the presence of foreign matter. In these circumstances, you will be required to pay the full retail price of the modem.
When you cancel your subscription or terminate your service, you must return the modem to SpinTel. If you cancel your subscription or terminate your service and do not return the modem in working order within 21 calendar days from cancellation or termination, you will be charged the retail value of the modem, as applicable at the time the modem was provided to you. This charge is applicable in addition to any applicable Early Termination Fees as part of your plan. You are to return the modem to us at your own cost and expense, via courier to SpinTel, at the address provided to you by us at the time of termination.
